DISCOVERING THE OPPORTUNITY IN GREEN TOURISM DEVELOPMENT WITH PHUC KHANG CORPORATION
, 14/10/2020 09:10On 9th October 2020, in the framework of work package No.4 of TOURIST project, CVSEAS’s research team, led by Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, had a meeting with Ms. Luu Thi Thanh Mau - CEO of Phuc Khang Corporation in order to explore opportunities in green tourism development in the new urban area in HCMC. The meeting also had the participation of Ms. Le Thi Hong Na, officer and specialist of the Office of Green Building Research and Development, Phuc Khang Corporation.
At the meeting, Ms Luu Thi Thanh Mau introduced the formation process and green growth orientation of Phuc Khang Corporation since 2009. With the mission of promoting products for public health, after more than a decade of development, Phuc Khang Corporation has become a leading corporation in the field, impacting on the estate market, especially in the Eastern area with the new city - Thu Duc. Not only focused on the green living space, Ms. Mau stated, Phuc Khang Corporation but also paid attention to create the ecological destination in combination with regional elements characteristic to attract tourists, aiming to create urban heritage and develop green tourism for the community benefits.

Coming to the part of introducing ongoing projects, Dr. Le Thi Hong Na presented their vision and business philosophy, which emphasized the efforts of the Product Research & Development team in assuring their projects meet the international standards on green architecture. Research team representative, M.A Pham Thanh Thoi shared his experience in urban studies from anthropology perspective to ensure the harmony between the design and the practical usage of the residents, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of green buildings. TOURIST project’s members raised many questions related to the residents’ lifestyle in green architecture, the strategy promoting green growth benefit to the community.

At the end of the meeting, Ms. Luu Thi Thanh Mau highly appreciated the scientific research activities of CVSEAS and asked for the cooperation between the Center and R&D team. Responding to the suggestion, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of CVSEAS, thanks the leaders for the concern about current sustainable development and ecotourism. With the strength in researching social science, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam believed the cooperation will create the positive changes relating building ecospace and destination in urban, heading for spreading the sustainable valued for the community.

The project is funded by the EU’s Erasmus+ and overseen by FH Joanneum (Austria). Other associates include Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hue University, and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
