INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AT GWANGJU UNIVERSITY, KOREA

On May 15-16, 2010 Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies participated in the international conference: The Construction of communities of Asia, funded by The Asian Culture Exchange Foundation. The speakers came from the universities: Korea, Japan, Turkey, India, China and Vietnam, etc.
The topics of the conference included:
“Turkish culture as an Asian Member” do Managing director Ethan Atail, Istanbur culture center.
“Economic Exchange for the Asia Communities” Dr.Tran Dinh Lam, CVSEAS, USSH
“The value of democracy for the Asian Peace” Prof. Mori Yoshinobu, Saga University, Japan
“Confucianism and the East Asian Community” Prof. Xing Liju, Fudan University, China
“ The Role of Mongolia for the Asian Harmony”, Prof. S.Molor-Erdene, director of Jonoin Institute of Technology, Mongolia
Prof. Hee-jae Lee specializing in research on Confucian philosophy of Gwangju University, who organized the conference, expected finding opportunities to interact with scholars of universities and research institutions to mutual understanding, share their cultural values to build an Asian community of peace and stability.
Prof. Choi WooWon, Pusan University, chairman of the Asian philosophy raised the need to protect the value of morality, tradition in the process of industrialization in Asian countries.
Dean, College of Humanities and Social scienses, Prof. Jo Ha Park welcomed the contributions of the scholars and looked forward to contributing to the development commonwealth.
