Social networking sites greatly benefit businesses

On May 23, the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Studies, HCM City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, organized a workshop on “The importance of social networking sites to the development of businesses”.
Mr. Jay Hartwell, a lecturer as well as faculty adviser to student media programs at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa (USA), said that there are now about 55% of Vietnamese people using smart phones. About 35% of them use social networks, 37% of whom using those sites for shopping.
Those figures are predicted to markedly increase, bringing various benefits to enterprises. The most obvious advantage is that businesses can cut a lot of expenses for advertising their products and brand names compared to the way they traditionally do.
In addition, thanks to the aid of technology, customers can now connect and receive notifications of events and promotions launched by businesses through social networks. Anyone can express their like or dislike and give products reviews that will be publicly available for everyone. Social networking sites not only help people know about businesses, but positive feedback on the products also greatly contributes to pushing up sales.
However, when using social networking sites to promote their products and services, enterprises also need to have their own professional website, which is one of the indispensible tools for online marketing strategies.
