ATTENDING INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
, 07/04/2010 16:04On March 18 and 19, 2010, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended the International Conference "The process of modernization of Japanese and regional literature in the area of Han culture: Vietnam-China-South Korea from the late XIX century to the early XX century". The Workshop was held by the Faculty of Language - Literature with funding from Japan Foundation.
Attending the seminar were not only teachers from universities, researchers in Vietnam but also a lot of researchers, scholars and experts from various countries around the world such as Professor Kawaguchi Kenichi (researcher of Vietnamese studies , Tokyo University of Foreign Languages, Japan), Prof. Shigemi Nakagawa (an international scholar in modern Japanese literature and comparative literature, Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Japan), Prof. Tokunaga Mitsuhiro (Fukuoka Institute of Technology, Japan), Prof. Wang Xiao Ming (University of Shanghai, China), Prof. Chen Yi Yuan (International Chengkung University, Taiwan), Prof. A. Sokolov (Oriental Institute of the Academy of Russia), Dr. Nguyen Nam (Harvard Yenching Institute, USA), researchers on translation Pham Vinh Cu, Pham Xuan Nguyen, Prof. Tran Dinh Su, Prof. Tran Thanh Dam, etc. In this Conference the issues were discussed on the modernization of the literature between Japan and other countries in the region of Han culture toward a mutual understanding in the spirit of friends, international cooperation among the countries with “the similar culture and literature”.
