, 14/03/2010 22:03

On the morning of March 1, at University of Social Sciences and Humanities of Ho Chi Minh City, staff and students were welcomed to the meeting and exchange with Japanese students. The school included Dr.Tran Dinh Lam - Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, Master Bang Anh Tuan - Head of International Cooperation Department and students from Faculty of Oriental Studies and International Relations. Japanese delegation led by Professor Yoshiharu Tsuboi, along with students of political sciences from prestigious Waseda University had discussions with Vietnamese partners.

On opening the discussions, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam presented the development of Vietnam as well as relations between Vietnam and Japan in recent years. Vietnam - an S-shaped strip of land from the painful experiences of its wartime is striving to develop prosperously. He also said that Vietnam learned much from Japan's development experience - a country devastated after heavy World War II but it took it only 15 years to rise to become one of the central financial-economic world center in which elements of education and human resources play an important role in the development of the country.

As for Japanese partners, Professor Yoshiharu Tsuboi shared his field trips. Before coming to Vietnam, the delegation visited Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Cambodia. In Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City is the second stop after the first one in Hanoi. Professor said that he was pleased with the trip through which Japanese students had the opportunities to exchange and communicate with the friends of international students, thereby learning a lot of knowledge useful in practice.

Later, the meeting continued with discussion and exchange of the students of both sides on many issues such as maintaining the historical and traditional values as well as absorbing the values of modern civilization; the look of youth about the wars in Vietnam; themes on life and future careers after graduation.

After the exchange, Prof. Dr. Vo Van Sen - Rector of University of Social Sciences & Humanities spent some time meeting with Professor Yoshiharu Tsuboi. Before farewell, Professor Yoshiharu Tsuboi suggested creating favorable conditions for excellent and most enthusiastic students during the meeting to study in Japan, which is an evidence to help closer cooperation between University of Social Sciences and Humanities of Ho Chi Minh City and Waseda University in the future.
