CONFERENCE ON ECONOMIC REFORM: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE AT KUNG HEE UNIVERSITY, KOREA
, 21/06/2010 11:06On the morning of May 17, 2010, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended the workshop at the Institute for Research on Public Issues, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Kung Hee with professors and postgraduate students of China, Ucraina, South Korea, etc.
The Center presented the discussion on the economic development of Vietnam 35 years after reunification, the failure of the planning period and the accomplishments achieved after 25 years of innovation. The researchers noted several comments: economic development should consider the fairness of the whole society, and everyone should benefit in the changing process. The process of economic transformation should pay attention to cultural factors. Korea Institute gave proof of the failure of Wall Mart to get into supermarkets in Korea. It is necessary to select and to implement the model developed appropriately for the country. Vietnam will take further steps if there is a more professional administrative apparatus of state, to avoid causing inconvenience to harassment investors.
Professor Jong Ho Kim who was trained to be a doctor in the United States, Dean of the faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, has organized the visits to Vietnam with the group of university teachers specializing in many areas of business administration in Korea. Prof. shared the desire to support the training of human resources for Vietnam in the future.
