JOINING THE MEETING FOR EVALUATING THE FULBRIGHT PROGRAM ON SCHOLAR EXCHANGE
, 27/07/2010 21:07On July 15, 2010, in Da Nang Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies participated in the meeting for evaluating the Fulbright Program on scholar exchange held by the Fulbright Program in Vietnam, the Department of Culture & Information, the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi.
Attending the meeting were University of Education - Hanoi National University, Department of International Cooperation - Water Resources University Hanoi, University of Education Ho Chi Minh City, Center for Testing and Quality Assessment Training - National University of Ho Chi Minh City, University of Economics - Hanoi National University, Institute of Art & Culture of Vietnam, University of Public Health, Institute of Education - University of Ho Chi Minh, Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University and Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies. On behalf of Fulbright Program is Ms. Vu Thi Diu - Fulbright Program Assistant and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh - Fulbright Program.
The meeting assessed the activities of the Scholars Program between Vietnam and the United States to train human resources for both countries. Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies has received two Fulbright students (Oliver H. Meek and Kim Phan Don) and helped these two students complete their research in Vietnam. Both finished well in their studies, particularly, Oliver has successfully completed the study and his work has partly been shown in the articles published in the "Saigon Economic Times" magazine.
In the discussion the representatives proposed Fulbright Program on scholar exchange to give more support to partners of Vietnam. At the end of the meeting Ms. Patricia (KIT) Norland, the Press and Culture Attaché, announced a new program of scholar exchange with Vietnam. This new program will contribute to human resource development for both countries more effectively.
