Upon this visit, the Taiwanese delegation hopes to have exchanges and cooperation in terms of cultural and economic aspects among 13 universities in Taiwan and other counterparts in Southeast Asia. The Taiwan’s educational system, which has been regarded as a standard to international students, wants to expand its human resource training in Vietnam in particular and in other Southeast Asian countries in general. Taiwan will attract international students through different measures, including awarding scholarships.
There are many reasons why Vietnamese students should choose to study in Taiwan, such as the country’s great experience in training human resources of high quality and its highly productive investments in Vietnam. Additionally, students will stand a better chance of getting good jobs after studying abroad, which should be another reason for students to come to Taiwan’s education.
As a guide of the delegation, Prof. Tran Van Doan hopes to play the role as a bridge for Vietnamese students interested in pursuing their education in Taiwan as well as further connections in the future. To realize this, many universities suggest a program with two years of studying in Vietnam and two years in Taiwan in order to make it more convenient for students. The Tainan-based universities, which are prestigious institutions in Taiwan, agree with the suggestion, adding that students graduating from these universities will be able to work in corporations in Japan and Europe. The representative of Tainan’s authority also expects to promote mutual developments.
