RESEARCH STUDENT OF TOKYO UNIVERSITY, JAPAN, CONTINUES HIS SURVEY ON

From November 19th, to December 2nd, 2009, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) went on dealing with Atsushi Okada – research student of Tokyo University, Japan, on the scale of his survey on "contract farming" in Vietnam.
During two weeks, CVSEAS and research student carefully studied "Contract farming" between enterprises and farmers via the representatives of cooperatives. Specifically, they came to work with the chief of Tan Trung cooperative, union of commercial cooperative of HCMC - Coopmart, interviewing small businesspeople, farmers paticipating and not participating in Tan Phu cooperative, Cu Chi district, HCMC.
Besides, Sai Gon Food company, Tien Giang Food company, My Tho city, representatives of Fourth Enterprise of trading and processing food and My Thanh cooperative, Cai Lay district, Tien Giang province were interviewed on the growing situation according to the direct contract between farmers and enterprises via the cooperatives.
