, 27/10/2016 11:10

On the morning of September 29, 2016, Prof.Dr. Bui Tung from the University of Hawaii at Manoa (USA) delivered a talk on leadership skills in the digital era, especially decision-making skills. The event was jointly organized by the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies.

Attendees at the seminar included managers at different levels from businesses and schools in Ho Chi Minh City. Dr. Tran Dinh Lam commented that it was a good chance for leaders of not only enterprises but also of education institutions to gain knowledge related to their leadership. Making decisions in the digital era is not an easy task, particularly during the boom in information technology these days.

Prof.Dr. Bui Tung was delivering his talk at the seminar.

Prof.Dr. Bui Tung said that in order to become a prominent leader, each individual must have strategic and systematic visions, always focus on what should be done, set standards and high expectations of results, develop passion and have leadership abilities. Furthermore, in the digital economy nowadays, all of our work is reliant on computer technology, especially the Internet. Consequently, a great leader cannot ignore the importance of information technology during the time under his leadership. According to Prof.Dr. Bui Tung, Vietnamese leaders need to make more dramatic changes so as to be able to drive the digital economy towards the growing and beneficial directions.

Sharing Prof.Dr. Bui Tung’s opinion, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam also said that it is essential to produce a workforce equipped with profound knowledge and expertise in order to meet the increasing requirements of the labor market once Vietnam has been integrating with the world’s economy.
