On December 19, 2010, the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, together with Japanese professors and the University of Pennsylvania, USA, came to work with graduate students at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), one of the most famous schools in New Delhi, India in the field of social science.
The post-graduates have exchanged views on student life at the university and answered the research team's questions.
The Indian government has provided a lot of subsidies to students who attend the school. Each student semester only pays about 5 dollars. Students only spend about 20-30 dollars a month.
With their proficiency in English as an advantage, graduate students can work part-time on NET and earn about $ 50 to $ 70 a month. This amount is very large compared to the monthly amount you receive from your family about 5 to 25 dollars a month. All students enrolled receive scholarships from the Government of India.
