A GATHERING OF 2009-2010 FULBRIGHT SCHOLARS

On Thursday the 17th, 2009 there was a gathering at the Palace Hotel of the 2009-2010 Fulbright Scholars and Students organized by the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCMC).
Prof. Dr. Lê Quang Minh, Vice-president of VNU-HCMC, took part in this meeting as did Prof. Dr. Trần Thị Hồng, Director of international affairs, and lecturers from different universities within the VNU-HCMC system, in order to collaborate with the 2009-2010 Fulbright Scholars and Students currently researching and teaching in HCMC. At the gathering, the lecturers and Fulbrighters discussed the directions for the new academic year and ways to strengthen their relationship in the future. Fulbrighters plan to participate in many different activities, especially organizing English clubs in and outside HCMC in order to improve young Vietnamese English speaking ability. In addition, there was much discussion about future collaboration on projects between VNU-HCMC and the current Fulbrighters.
Oliver H. Meeker, Fulbright research student who is currently working and researching with the Center of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, also participated in the above event.
