EXCHANGE WITH HYOGO UNIVERSITY OF TEACHER EDUCATION

On September 29th, 2009, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended the exchange with Hyogo University of Teacher Education, a leading Japanese university specializing in educational studies, led by professor Miyazaki Hideki. The exchange program was held at Minh Tam company whose director is Dr Nguyen Tri Dung.

In the exchange, professors, doctors and M.A. students discussed the present educational situation in Japan and Vietnam. Professor Takafumi Yoshimoto gave an impressive report on Japanese education comparing the characteristics of geography, land and people between Vietnam and Japan. According to him, Vietnamese and Japanese culture have a lot of similarities, and both should understand and share several issues in order to develop together. By the scheduled program, the delegation has visited universities in Hà Nội, Nha Trang and HoChiMinh city. The professors showed their impression on the students’ respect and politeness for teachers and their teaching at Vietnamese universities.

For the conclusion, professors Takafumi Yoshimoto and Miyazaki Hideki stated that the present inovation in education and training will support Vietnam to rise in the twenty-first century.
