EXCHANGE WITH STUDENTS OF NANYANG TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY

On the morning of June 26, 2009, Center of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies exchanged with students of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The group consists of five excellent selected students of different fields in Lion Island: accounting, business, marketing, banking finance and material science.

This exchange program funded by Temasek Singapore (Temasek Foundation Singapore) is named:" Learn Award". For the purpose of accumulating experiences in work, cultural and scholastic exchanges, Temasek Foundation Singapore has supported students to study and practice in countries such as Vietnam and Indonesia for six months. These students will participate in the courses in University of Social Sciences and Humanities, HoChiMinh city and practice in companies in Vietnam such as Kepple Logistics, Asia Pacific Brewery (Hanoi) Limited, Sunlight Electrical Vietnam, Astral Infotech Vietnam Limited.

This is a very meaningful funding program, making improtant contribution to developing society and enhancing the economy of a small country "poor" in natural resources but "rich" in human resources. Singapore has paid great attention to developing and training its human resources which are the most important element to promote the economy and social progress. As a result, enterprises and universities in Singapore are in close coordination and have programs of exchange and cooperation in order to create favorable conditions for students to study and contact practice. "Learn Award" is among these useful programs.

Singapore offers programs of scholarships to excellent students in the Southeast Asian region to study in this beautiful country.
