GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISIS AND MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS FOR VIETNAMESE ENTERPRISES

, 15/07/2009 10:07

With the participation of two internationally distinguished professors, Prof. Takahashi and Sir Võ Tá Hân, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies – University of Social Sciences and Humanities, HoChiMinh city held a seminar: ”Global economic crisis and management solutions for Vietnamese enterprises", attracting a lot of representatives from the enterprises in the region.

What should we do to grow positively; How should we do to overcome difficulties; How can we help enterprises in the margin of bankruptcy?,etc.

It is the most difficult that Vietnam is lacking “supporting industry”. Many Japanese investing and doing business in Vietnam have to the neighboring countries such as Thailand, Singapore, etc in order to buy products which Vietnam can’t make. The supporting industry can help train well-quilified labor forces and produce necessary products.

The managers of the enterprises have to always volunteer to study modern technology in order to have good knowledge in manage their enterprises. Besides, directors must have monthly objectives and know how to realize these in specific numbers. These numbers should be not only known by directors but also announced to all the staff of the enterprises how these numbers have been carried out. In order to implement this, managers have to set up a system of documents, popularize and guide all the staff how to do and how easily to reflect the most quickly. The managers of departments or the senior are responsible for these. Simultaneously, there must be an appropriate policy on awarding those who have completed their duties well.

Also, considering man the most important factor to decide on the success or failure of the enterprises, sir Võ Tá Hân – director of Vota Management Pte Ltd analyzed:  Why do the enterprises default when a “storm” happen? The cause can be traced from the internal organization and management. This accounts for 80%, 20%, and the rest depends on the external factors such as this economic crisis. Therefore, the leaders of the enterprises play decisive roles.

On the other hand, even in the economic crisis, the enterprises can find good opportunities for developing. The scholars advised the enterprises to return to the domestic markets to get more chances. According to Sir Võ Tá Hân, it is not always neccssary for the enterprises to get high revenues: during the process of development, sometimes they advance fast, sometimes slowly, sometimes they stop and even sometimes they have to reverse.

The seminar helps the medium amd small-sized enterprises get more confident and be able to orientate clearly their stable development in the current global economic crisis.
