MEETING BETWEEN CONSUL GENERAL OF LAOS, MR. MIYAZAKI AND CVSEAS

On February 11th, 2009 the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies met and worked with Mr Miyazaki - a Japanese businessman - at the Consulate General of Laos to discuss the offer of scholarships to Laotian and Vietnamese students.
For successive years Mr Miyazaki in combination with Singapore airline has granted scholarships to Vietnamese students of excellence. From the desire of strengthening the cooperative relationship between Southeast Asian countries, especially Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, in the aspect of education, Mr Miyazaki will grant several scholarships to the students of the three countries. Through Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, Mr Miyazaki met with Consul General of Laos before paying a visit to Laos.
Consul General of Laos was very happy that Mr Miyazaki was interested in education. The Consul General considered human training the most important. Human resources are vital to businesses and their countries. As a result, he hoped that Japanese businesses would invest more in the field of education in the future.
On the occasion of this meeting, Mr Miyazaki offered scholarships to the students in IT Japanese class of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies.
