MEETING WITH DR. NOVAKOVA OKSANA – MOSCOW STATE UNIVERSITY
, 13/02/2009 09:02On 25 December 2008, CVSEAS had a meeting with Dr. Novakova Oksana, who is the Director of Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Moscow State University, one of the most renowned universities in Russia which is an important Human Resource trainer for Vietnam.
After attending Seminar on Vietnamese Studies, Dr. Novakova Oksana paid a visit to University of Social Sciences and Humanities and had a meeting with Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies. In the meeting, Doctor expressed her viewpoints on the relationship between Japan and Southeast Asia, including Vietnam. According to her, Japan now shifts its investment from some others Southeast Asian countries to Vietnam. There are reasons for this move, such as the stable economic development of Vietnam. Besides, similarities of the two cultures and lifestyles have a considerable influence on Japan’s shift of investment. Dr. Oksana also expressed her wish of co-operation with CVSEAS to do a research on this issue in the near future.
