OPENING CEREMONY OF A THAI CLASS

On the afternoon of September 14th, 2009, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) held the opening ceremony of a Thai class in Vinakraft Company, Ltd., SCG Group of Kingdom of Thailand.

 

For Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies were Dr Thành Phần, vice-director and Nguyễn Thị Trang, Thai lecturer. For Vinakraft company were Mr Nguyễn Đức Toàn, head of personnel department and 25 employees selected for attending the Thai class. At 13:00 on that day, Dr Thành Phần declared the ceremony and cheered the success of the class.

In his speech Dr Thành Phần greeted all the learners and wished them to reach their achievements. He hoped that after the course, the learners can communicate in basic Thai within the company and continue taking the next levels in order to increase their proficiency in Thai.

Presently, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies has been holding and teaching Thai classes (5 classes at several levels) in the evenings Mon-Wed-Fri and Tue-Thurs-Sat in a week. The classes are divided in two shifts: shift 1 (17:30-19:00); shift 2 (19:00-20:30). Up to now, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies has organized 36 courses. With experienced and enthusiastic teachers, after completing 5 levels, learners can communicate with Thai people fluently and confidently.

The class (course 1) held by Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies in Vinakraft company will last two months, from 14/09/2009 to 04/11/2009. Having completed the course, the learners can read and pronounce Thai accurately.

It is hoped that Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies will become a language bridge for those who are in need of Thai.
