VIETNAM-JAPAN EXCHANGE FESTIVAL
, 15/09/2010 16:09On September 12, 2010, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies participated in the Vietnam-Japan exchange festival held in the Culture House of Youth. Attending the opening ceremony were the representative of Foreign Affairs in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Le Thanh An, Consul General of the United States, Mr. Anatol V. Borovik, Consul General of Russian Federation, the representative of Chinese Consulate General in HCMC, etc.
The Day has many exciting programs: Arts of Ikebara flower arrangement, Japanese Drama, performance of sword martial arts, exchange with the artists having performed in Japan.The exhibition room shows many Japanese dolls, comics, arts of folding paper, etc.
The performance of artistic flower arrangement by a Japanese artist, cultural exchange envoy of the Government of Japan, Sir Sasaki YASUHITO, attracted many young people. Lady of the Consul General of the United States and Consul General of the Russian Federation also joined it with the Vietnamese students.
The exhibition also provides more information about Japanese educational institutions. Japan currently has 604 postgraduate schools, 765 universities, 417 universities of banks, 64 professional colleges, 3401 professional schools, etc. http://www.jasso.go.jp/index _e . html.
Japan wants to attract more students from Vietnam as well as from other Southeast Asian countries to study in Japan, learn each other’s culture and share the experiences in economic and social development.
