VISITING CENTER FOR SOUTHEAST ASIAN STUDIES, NATIONAL CHINAN UNIVERSITY, TAIWAN

During the meeting between Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, Prof. Lim Thiong Tray, director of Center for Southeast Asian Studies, National University Chinan, Taiwan, the two sides shared understanding of the two centers for development and service.
Prof. Lim was very interested in training human resources in Vietnam and Indonesia. The Professor wants Vietnamese students to go to Taiwan and the students from Taiwan to Vietnam for exchanges. This will make better linkages between University of Chinan and other universities in Southeast Asia.
In particular, the Professor was interested in ethnic minority Naka of China having been to Southeast Asia to live and do business. He hoped, through the exchanges of students and the sharing of knowledge between the centers, he will have conditions to better understand the situation of this ethnic Naka.
Interestingly, according to the Professor, the leader of Center for Southeast Asian Studies was invited from Malaysia. Taiwan is in favor of the talent and the investment in education so the government has enthusiastically invited a Malaysian professor to be the director of the Center.
