VISITING UNIVERSITY OF ASIA, TAIWAN
, 18/10/2010 10:10On September 1, 2010, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, visited Asia University in Taichung, Taiwan. Dr. Lam Dr. was met by Dr. Yu-Tung Liu, Vice Rector, Dr. Ying-Huei Chen, Deputy Dean of International College, Dr. Han.CW Hsiao, director of the Center for International Academic Exchange, and members of the University.
Asia University was established in 1995. Under the government investment, the University has offered many scholarships for foreign students and has attracted many students from Southeast Asia.
Dr. Tran Dinh Lam shared his ideas with a Malaysian professor. The professor said that Taiwan cared about human resource development. A professor has high status in society and the society respects him. The professor appreciated the Taiwanese government’s investment in education, particularly for the University. Apart from the modern facilities to cater for the teaching and learning, Asia University has a large and modern library equipped with many books, magazines and newspapers. This library is open on even Saturdays and Sundays. In particular, Asia University appreciate the review of teaching and learning activities. This is the key to the rapid development in the field of education of Taiwan.
The professor expressed his desire to have more international students from Vietnam to study business administration at the university.
