WELCOMING PROFESSORS FROM INSTITUTE OF KOREA STUDY, NEW SOUTH WALES UNIVERSITY, AUSTRALIA AND YEUNGNAM UNIVERSITY
, 24/04/2012 21:04Morning April 23rd, Professor Chung Sok Suh, Director of Institute of Korean Study in New South Wales University (UNSW), Australia and Prof. Soon Don Choi, Vice President of Yeungnam University, Korea paid a visit to University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (USSH).

The team of Professors and Doctors from Korea included Prof. Chung Sok Suh- Director of Korean Study and Dr. Seung Ho Kwon (UNSW), Prof. Soon Don Choi- Vice President and Dr. In Jun (Yeungnam University), Prof. Seung Woo Park- President of KASEAS, Prof. Young Taek Chai, President Park Chung Hee Leadership Research Institute.
The team was greeted by officials from HCMC USSH: Prof. Vo Van Sen, President of the University, Bang Anh Tuan M.A. - Head of Office of International Cooperation & Project Development and Dr. Tran Dinh Lam- Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies.
Prof. Chung Sok Suh highly appreciated the cooperation with USSH since 2000 which has given scholars and students more insight into Korea. The collaboration has also contributed to the development of both countries. Mr. Chung would like to assist in strengthening the relationship between Yeungnam University and USSH.
Prof. Park, President of KASEAS, as well, hoped that the support from the Association would further enhance the solidarity and cooperation amongst ASEAN countries. Prof. Soon expected further research collaborations, academic exchange amongst scholars as well as Vietnamese students coming to study in Korea.
As the representative of USSH, Prof. Vo Van Sen strongly emphasized the importance of Korea-Vietnam relationship so far. Teaching and studying Korean at USSH has been improved, both quantitatively and qualitatively. In order to meet the need for socio-cultural exchange, it is necessary to organize Korean language skills training. Therefore, Mr. Vo hoped that partners from Korea and USSH could have more opportunities to exchange views, experience and conduct cooperation projects in the future.
