A VISIT FROM SCHOOL COUNCIL PRESIDENT OF THU DAU MOT UNIVERSITY
, 13/07/2018 10:07School Council President from Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU), Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hiep, paid a visit to University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) and was warmly greeted by USSH's representatives on May 22, 2018.
Representatives of HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities were Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan, president of USSH and Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS).
During the visit, two parties discussed the most recent collaboration between the two educational institutions including V2WORK project “Strengthening the Vietnamese Higher Education System to improve graduates’ employability and entrepreneurship skills” coordinated by University of Alicante and funded by Erasmus+ EU fund.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hiep expressed his heartfelt appreciation to USSH for supporting Thu Dau Mot University to connect with the international project. He went on to explain how much the international project meant to the University as it encouraged and improved the capability of university’s researchers. Moreover, the project is a valuable opportunity for university’s lecturers, experts and staff to be exposed to European education.

Additionally, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hiep emphasized that currently, TDMU made considerable changes to its scientific researches, Graduate programs and activities of Center for Labour Market to ensure students with the best opportunities in getting a desirable job. The professor himself showed significant determination and commitment in improving the school’s education quality in the future.
Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan appreciated TDMU’s efforts and determination. She also put a great emphasis on the importance of investing in research and strengthening capabilities of school’s lecturers and researchers, as well as workforce in Binh Duong Province. This does not only apply for TDMU, but is also being practiced at USSH.
The visit plays a vital role for the partnership of two schools as it represents the willingness and commitment of both universities to collaborate long-term.
