CVSEAS MEETS UP WITH PRESIDENT YUNG-LUNG LEE FROM CHANG JUNG CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY (CJCU), TAIWAN
, 16/12/2016 13:12On December 12, 2016, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, welcomed Dr. Yung-Lung Lee, President, and Prof. Dr. Huang Po-Ho, Deputy President of the Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU), Taiwan together with Prof. Tran Van Doan from the National Taiwan University.

Upon the occasion, representatives of the two universities expressed their wish to have cooperation in training and enhancing human resources among Vietnamese students. CJCU hopes to welcome Vietnamese students to study in Taiwan. Those who can meet the requirement of English and Chinese competence will be admitted. The University is also looking for support from Taiwanese businesses in Vietnam to provide funds for Vietnamese students.
In addition, CJCU’s representatives highly valued the potential of cooperation in Vietnamese human resources in Taiwan, given an estimate of 200,000 brides and 200,000 workers there. As a result, the University is planning to establish a department of Vietnamese linguistics in order to meet the demand for studying the language of children born to Vietnamese parents who are living in Taiwan.
Also in the meeting, CJCU wished to foster collaboration with the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies to expand mutual connections, exchanges, and cooperation in developing the personnel.

CJCU now offers 42 undergraduate, 19 graduate and one post-graduate programs. Up to the year 2016, it has built up connections with 70 universities worldwide with over 10,000 students at the present, including 400 international ones from 22 different countries. The institution is attempting to achieve the goal of becoming the best private university in South Taiwan.
