On February 18 and 19, 2020, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended the conference on the role of ASEAN-UK relation in the change of the regional architecture  held at the ASEAN Secretariat New building, Jakarta, Indonesia. The Conference brought together several Southeast Asian experts from the United Kingdom and experts from ASEAN Member States such as Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam.

On November 4th 2019, at the invitation of Prof. Mitsuhiro Kagami of Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM), Dr. Tran Dinh Lam had a meet and greet with the PIM students of the Business Administration Faculty.

In the morning of February 28th, an acceptance and handover of equipment for the “Supply and install equipment for project TOURIST* – Competence Center for the Development of Sustainable Tourism and Innovative Financial Management Strategies to Increase the Positive Impact of Local Tourism in Thailand and Vietnam” project was completed at Room D012 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Dinh Tien Hoang campus by the Acceptance and Handover Board.

In the morning of February 13th, a check and acceptance of all equipment belonging to the “Supply and install equipment and databases for project V2WORK* – Strengthening the Vietnamese Higher Education System to improve graduates’ employability and entrepreneurship” package was completed at room D610 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dinh Tien Hoang campus by the Check and Acceptance Board.

Midweek of January 2020, at the invitation of Prof. Dafri Agussalim, Executive Director of ASEAN Studies Center – Gadjah Mada University, I attended a Seminar of Southeast Asian Think Tanks, held in Jakarta (Indonesia), sponsored by the United Kingdom Mission to ASEAN. The seminar was attended by over 30 researchers from Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Also in attendance were Dr. Sudarno Sumarto, Representative of ASEAN Foundation – Vice President of Indonesia’s Office, and Mr. Phasporn Sangasubana – Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia.

Morning of November 30th 2019, the extended training workshop “Experiences in managing tourist destinations from the cases of Japan and Vietnam” was held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-USSH-HCM) as part of the TOURIST* project’s framework.

In the morning of October 4th, a check and acceptance of all equipment belonging to the “Supplying and implementing equipment and databases for project REACT – Strengthening capacities on research and renovation in climate change in Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam” package was completed at the Administration Building of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Thu Duc campus by the Check and Acceptance Board.

DISSCUSSING VIETNAM ECONOMIC REFORM WITH STUDENTS FROM CHANG JUNG CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY (TAIWAN)DISSCUSSING VIETNAM ECONOMIC REFORM WITH STUDENTS FROM CHANG JUNG CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY (TAIWAN) On October 24th, 2019, after paid a visit in a wheelchair manufacturer of disability community in Kaohsiung - Taiwan (funded by Toyota), Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of Business Management and International Finance Program, invited by Prof. Wu Shu-Hsing, had a workshop about the Vietnam economy development process with international students (Indonesia, Cambodia, Taiwan,..) who were studying at the Faculty of International Finance of Chang Jung Christian University.

On November 25th , Ph.D. student Pawel Soja (Jagiellonian University - Poland) and Postgraduate student Andrea Passannanti (Cagliari University - Italy) had a meeting with Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS). During the meeting session, which was a part of their schedule of study in Southeast Asia, they highlighted the role of education development in promoting ASEAN’s strength in the years to come. Postgraduate Doan Thi Quynh Dung, researching the topic: “ASEAN intra regional trade in goods (1992-2015)”, joined the discussion.
