On January 12, 2009, a New Year’s Eve Meeting held by Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS), University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) was in order to meet and be grateful to IT Japanese teachers, sponsors as well as organizations who have contributed to educational field and human resources training of the Center.

On November 28 2008, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies organized the seminar on “Investment and business opportunities in Laos” on the ocassion of 33th National Day of the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos.

 
BRINGING VIETNAMESE LITERATURE TO JAPANBRINGING VIETNAMESE LITERATURE TO JAPAN

An informal talk on “Vietnamese literary works translated into Japanese language” organized by Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies took place  on September 9 2008. In the talk, presented Professor Matsuda Kiyoshi (Tokyo Joho University, Japan), writer Phan Nhat Chieu (also researcher, translator, lecturer from University of Social Sciences & Humanities), Doctor Thanh Phan (Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies), and lecturers, specialists from departments, centers as well as students majoring in Linguistics-Literature and Japanese Studies.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Direcotr of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies has attended the Rome's international conference "Global governance: growth and innovation 2020" taking place from August 18 to 26 attracts as many as 110 scholars from all over the world. During the conference, the professors have presented topics towards the global cooperation for young scholars.

 
UNIQUELY TAIKOMOCHIUNIQUELY TAIKOMOCHI

The talk on "Taikomochi Art" took place on September 17, 2008 at University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH). It was a good occasion for audience in Vietnam to learn more about the traditional cultural trait of Japan and meet Taikomochi Arai, one of the only five taikomochi in "Land of the Rising Sun" nowadays.

In October 7, 2008, IT Japanese Class organized by Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies and Center for Japanese Studies was opened at University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dinh Tien Hoang Campus.

On 19 November 2008, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) welcomed and met with Nakagawa Hidehiko, Chairman of Internet Service Corp. and Nhật Tinh Việt Co., Ltd.

Presenting at the meeting was Mr. Kubozono Eizo who has supported USSH and CVSEAS for ten years so far.
