On the morning of February 27th, 2009 Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies took part in the exchange with Waseda University (Japan) at the office building of Vietnam National University – HoChiMinh city. The teachers and students of both universities participated in it.Both sides shared their ideas of the topic on the relationship between Vietnam and Japan in the context of world’s current crisis.

On October 28 2008, ten students of Chungwoon University who are studying and doing research at University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Ho Chi Minh City had a visit and research on Thai Tuan Textile and Garment Corporation (Thai Tuan).

With the participation of two internationally distinguished professors, Prof. Takahashi and Sir Võ Tá Hân, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies – University of Social Sciences and Humanities, HoChiMinh city held a seminar: ”Global economic crisis and management solutions for Vietnamese enterprises", attracting a lot of representatives from the enterprises in the region.

On the morning of June 26, 2009, Center of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies exchanged with students of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The group consists of five excellent selected students of different fields in Lion Island: accounting, business, marketing, banking finance and material science.

On March 28, 2008, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies and Faculty of Philosophy held a special talk with Prof. Matsuba Soichi (Prof. of Philosophy, Doshisha University, Kyoto, Japan) at the conference room D102.

Also present at the talk were Associate Prof. Dr. Dinh Ngoc Thanh – Head of Office of Personnel and Administration, Associate Prof. Dr. Trinh Doan Chinh – Dean of Faculty of Philosophy, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, Dr. Thanh Phan – Vice Director of Center of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, lecturers in Faculty of Philosophy, and several Japanese (Prof. Dr. Uemoto Masasharu, Prof. Dr. Isobe Masanari, Mr. Miura Ai, MA.).

On May 15, 2008, during the visit and working session in USSH, Tennessee State University (Tennessee, USA) had a working session with Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies.

In September 22 2008, Prof. Dr. Vo Van Sen, Rector of University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) welcomed Mr. Satoru Miyazawa, General Directorof Koushin Japan. Attending the meeting, there were directors of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, Center for Japanese Studies.

On May 21, 2008, after meeting with university leading board, Prof. Chung-Sok Suh, Director of KAREC (Korea Australasia Research Centre), New South Wales University (Australia), had a talk with Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS).

During the talk, Prof. Chung-Sok Suh expressed his attention to Vietnam’s educational situation. He said that there are many famous international universities intending to develop network of international universities in Vietnam.

On the afternoon of May 8, 2009, CVSEAS in accordance with Japanese Consulate General in Hồ Chí Minh City held a talk on: Economic Development and Culture. The talk attracted a lot of students and learners of IT Japanese class and provided them with useful lessons.

International Symposium: "Japanese medium and small-sized enterprises – the way to success” was held by Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies in coordination with the fund of Japan Foundation at University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh city on June 11-12, 2009.
