On February 23rd, 2009 Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended the seminar: “Sharing experience in economic reform between Vietnam and South Africa” held by Institute for African & Middle Eastern Studies – Institute of Vietnamese Social Sciences and funded by The Brenthurst.

On February 21st, 2009 Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended the seminar: “Development of human resources promotes economy stably” held by Osaka Sangyo University (Japan) and Economic University – Hồ Chí Minh city at Movenpick Hotel. Attending the seminar were Mr Minoru Kiryu – director of Center for Asian community studies and other professors from Asian area.

On December 30 2008, students of IT Japanese Class had a meeting with Mr. Pham Ngo who has been working in IT for 8 years and worked in Japan for 2 years so far.

Communication skills play an important role in business and they are key points of business success in many circumstances. With the purpose of helping businesses enhance their communication skills, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) in collaboration with Truman College, Chicago, USA hosted a seminar on Exceptional Business Communication Skills in the Dinh Tien Hoang campus of University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Prof. Michael Lavin was the guest speaker of the seminar.

On 19 December 2008, CVSEAS signed Memorandum of Co-operation with Institute for East Asia Economy, Chosun University, the Republic of Korea.

On 25 December 2008, CVSEAS had a meeting with Dr. Novakova Oksana, who is the Director of Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Moscow State University, one of the most renowned universities in Russia which is an important Human Resource trainer for Vietnam.

From 11 December to 15 December 2008, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) in collaboration with the University of Tokyo (Japan) joined a research on coffee in Buon Me Thuot.

On September 28th, 2009, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies met with Mr Takeji Yoshikawa - Director of Japanese Center for cultrural exchange in Việt Nam  during his attendance in the symposium on Japanese literature in HCMC.

On the morning of March 13th, 2009 Priof. Takei Atsuo (Tokyo University of Information Sciences, Japan) gave a talk to the learners of the IT Japanese on research project for the sustainable development of economic and social structure dependent on the environment of the eastern coast of Asia at CVSEAS.

On January 13, 2009 Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) had a meeting with delegation of Center for South Asian Studies (Dongguk University– Republic of Korea). Attending the meeting were Prof. Kim Yei Chang, Director of CSAS and Prof. Chun Byung Gil, Faculty of Tourism Administration, Dongguk University and Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of CVSEAS.
