TRAINING TALENTS FOR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS (NPO)

, 13/01/2010 22:01

On the morning of January 7th, 2010, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies hosted a seminar “Training talents for non-profit organizations” (NPO) chaired by Prof. Nguyen Chi Trung with the participation of approximately 40 attendants from companies and enterprises, lecturers and research-students.

In any country, government can’t solve all the charitable problems in the society. It is the reason that charitable organizations come into being spontaneously; however, these ones run in specific terms. Non-profit organizations come into existence inevitably in order to serve the society continuosly and sustainably. Like enterprises, non-profit organizations run their business and get profit for their operation. The profit in the enterprises is put into individual pockets while the one in non-profit organizations is done into public fund. The personnel mechanism of non-profit organizations consists of board of trustees, staff with salaries and volunteers. In the professor’s opinion, non-profit organizations share the social burdens with the governments, help the society develop and are inevitable parts in modern societies.

The members of non-profit organizations come from all classes in the society. They are very enthusiastic and ready to work for the good sake of the society. According to their ability and situation, everybody can participate in non-profit organizations. The members of non-profit organizations are trained in the appropriate courses.

The audience eagerly attended and put various questions which are answered satisfactorily by the professor.
