Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities), accompanied two students, Clark Allison and Mary-Micheal Linsay, and professor Ho Ngoc Phuong to visit a company manufacturing shoe insoles in HCMC on January 28, 2015.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, attended the celebration of 66th Republic Day of India hosted by the Consulate General of India at the Sofitel Hotel, HCMC on January 26, 2015. Also present at the event were Tat Thanh Cang, Deputy Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee as well as representatives of the HCMC Department of External Relations, of localities, Indian enterprises, Vietnamese businesses and diplomatic corps.

After the field trip to visit the model of growing floating rice in Vinh Phuoc Hamlet, Tri Ton District, An Giang Province on January 31, 2015, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, HCMC USSH – worked with Mr. Tokue and Mr. Nishikawa, two Japanese experts on agriculture, discussing how to preserve and develop this model toward an eco-agricultural approach.

MEETING WITH MS. TAKEI FROM BANK OF MITSUBISHI AND AN ECO-AGRICULTURE FIELD TRIP IN AN GIANG

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam met up with Ms. Takei, an official from the Bank of Mitsubishi (Japan), and Mr. Shiokawa, Director of Nico Nico Yasai Co. (Dak Lak) on January 09. After the meeting, the group had an eco-agriculture field trip to Tri Ton District, An Giang Province.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam participated in teaching the “International Master in Rural Economics and Sociology” (IMARES) Program from 12-26 December, 2014. This is a collaborative training course between the Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) and the University of Liège, Belgium.
