Dr. Tran Dinh Lam participated in a meeting to welcome General Herbert Carlisle, who is an Air Component Commander for United States Pacific Command. The meeting was held by Rena Bitter, Consul General of the US in HCMC, upon the occasion of the General’s visit to Vietnam.

From 07 – 10 March, 2014, the University of Tokyo collaborated with the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) to hold a conference on eco-agriculture model at the University of Tokyo and conduct fieldwork in the countryside of Japan.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam had a talk to students from the Waseda University (Japan) led by Prof. Tsuboi at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities (HCMC USSH) on February 28, 2014.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam attended the anniversary of the 53rd Independence Day and the 23rd Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait, which was held in HCMC on January 25.

Before his official visits to several universities in HCMC, Prof. Tang C.Y, President of the Providence University, Prof. Tran Van Doan and 4 other professors had a meeting with the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) and Taiwanese Business Associations in HCMC, Binh Duong, Vung Tau and Dong Nai on February 13, 2014.

A group of researchers led by Prof. Ikemoto Yukio from the University of Tokyo, Japan, had a field trip to Buon Me Thuot City, Dak Lak province and Dak Min district, Dak Nong province, to study the eco-agricultural model which produces environment-friendly fresh coffee.

On the occasion of ending his term of office, Tom Y.F Huang, Head of the Economic Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in HCMC, met with Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, on January 27.

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies met up with Soichi Okuda, Director of Aplus Company, which belongs to the Shinsei Bank, Tokyo, Japan and Takatoshi Souda, Head of the Department of Planning and Investment of the company on January 13.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam attended the 5th “Engaging With Vietnam - An Interdisciplinary Dialogue” International Conference taking place at Thai Nguyen University from 16-17 December, 2013.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam participated in the “Korean Literature in Asian Perspective” international conference co-organized by the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities (HCMC USSH) and the Seoul National University on January 07, 2014.
