The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies coordinated with the Faculty of Cultural Studies to invite Prof.Michiko Yoshii and musician Tran Manh Tuan for an exchange of Trinh Cong Son’s music with lecturers and students of the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities on the afternoon of September 12, 2013.

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) has been conducting a research on villages of fresh vegetables in Hue and Hoi An from August 28 to September 23, 2013.

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies participated in the talk by Prof. Ngo Bao Chau with the theme “The common point between art and science” at the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities (HCMC USSH) on August 21. The leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences & Humanities (HCMC USSH) had a meeting with the representatives of the parliamentary delegation of the U.S at the university on August 30, 2013.

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies held a seminar on “Interdisciplinary Study on Poverty based on Capability Approach and presentation on model of fresh vegetables production in Vietnam” at the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities (HCMC USSH) on August 27, 2013.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam has just met with Prof. Takashi Sekiyama from the Meiji University (Japan) and had some discussion on Vietnam’s economy on the occasion of 24 students of this university visiting the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, together with Prof. Yuka Kawano from Josai International University, attended the seminar on “Positioning Vietnamese Tourism Trademark” held by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism on August 22, 2013.

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) carried out a research on the handicraft village of ethnic minorities in Sapa district, Lao Cai province, from 17 – 22 August, 2013.

After having visited and worked with the Ministry of Justice in Hanoi, Huei-Huang Lin, a professor of law and also the President of the Academy for the Judiciary, which is subject to the jurisdiction of Taiwanese Ministry of Justice (Republic of China), arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on August 07, 2013.

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended the 66th anniversary of the Republic of India’s independence (15/8/1947 – 15/8/2013) held by the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) and theVietnam - India Friendship Association in HCMC on August 13, 2013.
