, 14/04/2017 08:04On April 11, 2017, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, attended the opening ceremony of the Fukuda Glove Vietnam at the Nhon Trach Industrial Park III in Dong Nai province.
The event witnessed the presence of Mr. Cao Tien Sy – Head of Dong Nai Province Industrial Park Management, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Van – Director of the Department of Nhon Trach District Customs, Mr. Takehisa Fukuda – Chairman of the Fukuda Glove Co., Ltd., Mr. Yoichi Fukuda – General Director of the Fukuda Glove Co., Ltd., Mr. Takeshi Tomokuni – Director of the Fukuda Glove Vietnam Co., Ltd., Mr. Hida Harumitsu – General Director of the Fukuda Glove Vietnam Co., Ltd. alongside representatives of the managing board of Dong Nai province industrial parks, Tin Nghia Corporation, JSC Company, F&M contractor, Meinan Vietnam Co., Ltd., Sankyu Vietnam Co., Ltd. and other departments.
With over 104 years in business, Fukuada Glove has the longest history in manufacturing fashionable gloves in Japan. According to Mr. Takashi Fukuda, Vietnam is one of the countries that attract the most foreign investors now. Since the wage rate for Chinese workers has greatly increased (from $40 per month in 1985 to $600-700 per month at present), foreign companies will gradually withdraw from China and look for other more potential markets in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam. He wants to develop the company and expand its market in Vietnam, hoping that Fukuda Glove Vietnam Co., Ltd. will fulfill its mission, become a “good citizen” and contribute to Vietnam’s growth as well as strengthening the Vietnam – Japan friendship.
As an ambassador for the Vietnam – Japan connection, Mr. Hida Harumitsu expressed his pride in calling for Japanese companies to cooperate and enjoy mutual development in the area of sheds for small and medium-sized enterprises to rent in Nhon Trach. That creates an excellent opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to make use of Japan’s investment and learn their experience in management, market searching, and technological advances.
“Japanese enterprises’ investment capital in Vietnam reached $2.6 billion in 2016, and in this particular sector, Japan is also one of the biggest investors in Vietnam. Given the context of Japan’s aging population and the expansion of Asian markets, etc., Vietnam has become an attractive investment destination for Japanese businesses. As a result, the number of members in the Japanese Business Association of Ho Chi Minh City increased up to 880 late last year, which reflects the strong development of the economic relationship between Japan and Vietnam during the current period of time”, said Mr. Hida Harumitsu in his remarks.
