ATTENDING THE DIWALI FESTIVAL
, 11/10/2010 12:10On November 5th, 2010 Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended the Diwali Festival at the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. Sir Abhay Thakur, Consul General of India, presided over the ceremony with the participation of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City, Television Station in Ho Chi Minh City and many honorable guests.
The participants shared the Indian culture in the friendly and open atmosphere. Sir Abhay Thakur would like the exchanges and cooperation with scientists in Vietnam, particularly in the field of education, to enhance the mutual understanding.
Education is the foundation for the national development, so the Consul General stressed the need for promoting the education in each country. Sir Abhay Thakur desired to enhance the innovation and integration to develop educational cooperation with Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries.
