On January 26, 2018, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam attended the opening ceremony of “The 5th Vietnam – Japan Festival” organized at the New World Hotel. The event aimed to celebrate 45 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

On February 24, 2018, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam had a meeting with Prof. Bae Yang Soo from the Department of Southeast Asian Studies, Busan University of Foreign Studies, in Hanoi on the occasion of his leading his students on a field trip to Vietnam.

THE MEETING WITH MR. HIDA MARUMITSU AND DR. KIKUCHI TADASHI

On March 18, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam met and had a talk with Mr. Hida Harumitsu - Former Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City - Chairman of Forval Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Dr. Kikuchi Tadashi Former Economic Attaché to the Japanese Consulate General in Vietnam - Lecturer at Teiko University.

On January 19, 2018, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies held a seminar on “Climate Change, Water Change and Environmental Degradation in the Mekong Delta” which is presented by Prof. Dr. Le Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of Research Institute for climate change, Can Tho University in the series of REACT Project’s Seminar.

In the series of training on climate change related to the REACT Project funded by ERASMUS, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies collaborated with Faculty of Sociology to hold 1st  Internal training  entitled “Climate change Adaptation – A multi-disciplinary framework of performance, Feasibility and social adoptability” on January 05, 2018.

On 22 December 2017, through the introduction by Dr. Tadashi Kikuchi, Teikyo University, Japan, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam had a working day with Prof. Toshio Ogata - Honorary Professor, Institute of Economic Research, Chuo University, Tokyo, Japan. He is also the Environmental Consultant for the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment of Hanoi.

On 12 and 14 December, 2017, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam had a talk at the HCM City University of Social Sciences and Humanities (HCMC USSH) on “Overview of Vietnam’s economy” with the participation of 57 students from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

On December 05, 2017, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam attended a reception hosted by the Royal Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) in celebration of Thailand’s National Day and anniversary of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s birthday, which is also Father’s Day in Thailand.
