On April 24, 2017, following the series of training programs jointly run by the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies and the Alue Co., Ltd., Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Mr. Masakazu Morigami, Mrs. Hidenori Yamakuni alongside employees of the Teijin corporation paid a visit to the An Phuoc Garment Embroidery Shoes Co., Ltd. The group was honorably welcomed by Mrs. Nguyen Thi Dien, the company’s General Manager, and Mr. Terada Takamitsu, Manager of the Tan Binh Factory.

On April 27, 2017, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam attended the anniversary of King’s Day of the Kingdom of the Netherlands hosted by the Netherlands Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. The representative of the city’s authority was Mr. Huynh Cach Mang – Deputy Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee. Other participants included representatives of the Vietnam National University – HCMC, several HCM-based universities alongside Dutch businesses and Vietnamese enterprises having business relationships with the Netherlands.

At the invitation of the University of Alicante, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam gave a seminar on Vietnam’s economic reform on March 27. The participants included Dr. Roberto Escarre – Director of the International Project Management Office, Prof. Ivan Rodriguez – Center of Technological Transfer Service, Prof. Oana Driha – Department of Applied Economic Analysis, professors, and postgraduates of economics alongside many students of other majors at the University of Alicante.

On April 11, 2017, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, attended the opening ceremony of the Fukuda Glove Vietnam at the Nhon Trach Industrial Park III in Dong Nai province.

On March 08, the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Studies welcomed Prof. Koji Domon, Waseda University, to visit and do research on copyright and intellectual property in Vietnam.

On March 03, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam had a meeting with a delegation of the Exotissimo Travel from the US and gave a talk on Vietnam’s development and its socio-economic transformation.

On March 02, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam had a talk to students from the Hiroshima University (Japan). Also present at the seminar were Prof. Yutaka Hasegawa – Head of the Office of Finance and General Administration, Prof. Tomoko Sasaki – Office of International Exchange, and Prof. Fuyuko Takita Ruetenik.

On March 06, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities (HCMC USSH) had a meeting with a delegation of universities from Tainan (Taiwan).

On March 03, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam welcomed Mrs. Erina Miyanishi, a researcher at the Institute for International Strategy, to CVSEAS in order to have some discussions about academic studies with the aim of strengthening the Vietnam – Japan relations.

At the invitation of Prof. Kim Young Jin and Prof. Inha Yoon, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam gave a seminar on “Economic transformation in Vietnam” at the Asia-Pacific Research Center, Hanyang University on February 14th.

The university is among the top private higher institutions in Korea. Also present at the seminar were Prof. Jung Se Jin, Park Sangshin, Lee Young Hyeong, Byun Hyun Sub alongside several experts of the Center.
