On May 17th, the discussion on “Comparative analysis of the tourism industry and sustainable tourism efforts in Thailand, Vietnam and the EU – Case study: Sustainability of Urban Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam” was organized at University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMUSSH). 

Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian studies (CVSeas) has collaborated with Japanese human resource development company - Alue Corporation - to provide a training program for employees of Teijin Ltd. Chemical Company.

In March, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies welcomed Prof. Koji Domon, Waseda University, to visit and conduct a research on the influence of Japanese culture on Vietnam’ industry.

From 20-24 March, 2018, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam attended the training workshop under the project on “Strengthening the Vietnamese Higher Education System to improve graduates’ employability and entrepreneurship skills” at the University of Alicante (Spain) and University of Coimbra (Portugal).

On March 27, 2018, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU – HCMC, collaborated with the Saigon Businessmen Club to host a seminar on “Promoting effective negotiation strategies to do business with Japanese enterprises”.

On March 26, 2018, the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies held a seminar on “Japanese business culture” presented by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Fuyuko Takita, lecturer from Hiroshima University (Japan), with the participation of students of Faculty of International Relations, English Linguistics & Literature, and Japanese Studies at HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

On February 27, 2018, a workshop on Sustainable Tourism Development was held at the FH Joanneum University, Graz (Austria). It is part of the project “Competence centers for the development of sustainable tourism and innovative financial management strategies to increase the positive impact of local tourism in Thailand and Vietnam” funded by the European Union (EU).

Attending the workshop, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam had a meeting with professors and lecturers of FH Joanneum University, and he presented books to its library.

At Prof. Dick Gebuy’s invitation, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam paid a visit to Sinternmeerten School and had a talk on economic reform and poverty alleviation for ethnic minorities in Vietnam on February 01, 2018.

From 29 to 30 January 2018, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam attended a workshop on issues of "Capacity Building for Higher Education" projects in Brussels, Belgium organized by European Union (EU).
