On December 06, 2017, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam attended the reception in celebration of the 84th birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan at Hotel Nikko Saigon. 

On December 12, 2017, the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies of the HCM City University of Social Sciences and Humanities (HCMC-USSH) held a seminar entitled “Climate Change: Global Environmental Crisis in the World-System” delivered by Prof. R. Scott Frey, Director of the Center for the Study of Social Justice, Department of Sociology, University of Tennessee (USA).

On December 01, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam paid a visit to the Thalyin University, meeting with Dr. Yi Yi Win, the University’s Rector.

On December 01, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam paid a visit to the Yangon University of Economics, meeting with Dr. Moe Moe Khaing, Head of Department of Management Studies.

On the morning of November 23, 2017, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam attended the 2017 international conference Saemaul Vietnam entitled “Sharing experience and proposing development strategies for Saemaul Globalization projects” and the program “Building new countryside in Vietnam”, which took place at University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Vietnam National University – HCM City. 

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS), and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Thanh Phan, Senior Lecturer at HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities, had a field trip to An Giang’s Department of Sports, Culture, and Tourism and An Giang University to survey Cham people’s village in this province on 10 & 11 November, 2017.  

On November 25, Dr. Tran Dinh welcomed Mr. Ernesto H.Braam LL.M., Regional Strategic Advisor Southeast Asia of Dutch Embassy and Governor of the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) in Singapore.

On November 17, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, attended a talk entitled “Pham Xuan An’s Dream for Vietnam”, which was presented by historian Larry Berman, author of X6 – Prefect Spy.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam attended a regional conference on cooperation in higher education in Yangon, Myanmar on 29-30 November, 2017.

On November 15Dr. Tran Dinh Lam just met up with Mrs. Harriet McFadzean, economic expert of Mekong Economics Co., Ltd., and had discussions about issues concerning foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam as well as the state’s policies and amendments to FDI.
