From February 22 to 24, 2016, Prof.Dr. Vo Van Sen, President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Ho Chi Minh City and two representatives of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies had attended the kick-off meeting of the ENHANCE Project in University of Alicante, Spain. During the meetings, many issues related to the dissemination and implementation of the project had been addressed and discussed in detail by project partners, including HCM-University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

ASEAN – THE STORY OF A BUNCH OF CHOPSTICKSOn November 20th 2015, a delegation consisting of Vietnamese representatives led by the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dzung attended the 27thAsean Summit and other related summits in Malaysia.
In the next day, TienPhong Newspaper interviewed Prof. Carlyle Thayer from Australian Defence Institution and Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies.

REPORT ON THE FIELD TRIP ABOUT CHAM MANUSCRIPTS IN THE CENTRAL AREA OF VIETNAMOn July 28th, 2015 a report on the field trip of the research Group from Ecole Francaise d’Extreme – Orient (EFEO) with the topic “Report on the field trip about Cham Manuscripts in the Central Area, Vietnam” took place in the room D102, hosted by the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS), USSH, VNU – HCMC. THE INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF THE FACULTY OF JAPANESE STUDIESOn August 27th, 2015, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies participated in the Inauguration ceremony of the faculty of Japanese Studies at USSH. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Van Sen, USSH’s President received the inauguration decision from The Director of Vietnam National University – HCMC.
On August 11th, 2015, the Center for Southeast Asia Studies participated in the seminar “Vietnam’s Relationship with Great Powers: Lessons from the Vietnam War” by Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Vice President of the Vietnam National Unversity – Hanoi, who received a PhD degree in Southeast Asia in Humboldt University – Germany in 2002 and is a former director of the Faculty of International Studies.
QUALITY OF EDUCATION NOT BASED ON THE NUMBER OF 'FIGHTING COCKS'(PL) – It is necessary for us to stay alert to compliments since they can subconsciously make us have illusions about the quality of Vietnam’s education.
