CELEBRATION OF 105TH TAIWAN DOUBLE TENTH NATIONAL DAYDr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, attended the celebration of the 105th Double Tenth National Day of Taiwan held by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam on October 10, 2016.
OPENING CEREMONY OF THE CENTER FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT - SAEMAUL UNDONGOn the morning of August 30, 2016, Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, attended the opening ceremony of the Center for Rural Development - Saemaul Undong at the second campus of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City (Quarter 6, Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc District).
On October 03, 2016, the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) collaborated with the University of Hawai’i and the Kapi'Olani Community College (USA) to organize a session which provided information about studying abroad in Hawai’i.
The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies welcomed Prof. Yukiko Fukagawa and a group of students from the Waseda University (Japan) on the morning of September 26, 2016, on which occasion Dr. Tran Dinh Lam gave a talk on “Economic innovations in Vietnam” to the participants.
ELEMENTARY EDUCATION IN A FAR-OFF COUNTRY(TBKTSG) – On the occasion of doing research in Hawaii, I had a chance to experience an excellent education system there. It provides an ideal and equal environment for not only American children but also for international kids coming with their parents who stay temporarily in the U.S. for working and researching purposes.
Students of the Faculty of Japanese Studies, Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities (HCMC USSH), had a meeting with their counterparts of the Faculty of Business Administration, University of Hyogo (Kobe, Japan).
LOW PER CAPITA INCOME, VIETNAM STILL RANKED 6TH WITH OVERSEAS STUDENTS IN THE U.S.According to the latest report by the Student and Exchange Visitor Information – SEVIS (March 2016), Vietnam was ranked 6th out of 10 countries which have the highest number of overseas students in the U.S.
After signing an agreement with the Northern Illinois University, the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) started to receive students for study and sightseeing trips with FLAS Funding awarded by the US government.
