On March 10, 2015, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended a seminar hosted by Prof. Chun Taeck-so, Economic Professor and Director of the Office of Korean Studies, South Korea. There was also the presence of Prof. Dr. Phan Thu Hien – Dean of the Faculty of Korean Studies and many students.

On November 28, 2014, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) met up with Prof. Reed Dasenbrock, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Alue Company was established in 2003 with the goal of supplying human resources worldwide, training employees and providing consulting service on human resources for over 800 companies in Japan. So far it has offered training programs for more than 50,000 employees annually. Alue has been launching such programs in 5 countries: Japan, China, Indonesia, India and Vietnam. This was the third consecutive program subsequent to two previous ones (which were respectively held in June 2013 for Shinsei Bank and in April 2014 for businessmen of Teijin Corp.).

That was the statement claimed by Satoshi Nakajima, Consul General of Japan at the meeting with representatives of the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) on November 06, 2014. The meeting participants consisted of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Van Sen, HCMC USSH’s President; Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Doan Le Giang, Dean of the Department of Literature and Languages; Bang Anh Tuan (MA), Head of the Office of International Cooperation. Upon the occasion, the Japanese Consul General would like to get a better understanding of the university’s operation as well as exchanges between it and Japanese bodies, institutes and schools.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam visited the University of Hawaii at Manoa (the US), meeting up with Prof.Dr. Bui Tung at the Information Technology Management Department on November 28, 2014.

On February 03, 2015, Prof. Ki Hyong Sohn, President of CNU, paid a visit to the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH). The professor was welcomed by Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan – Vice President of HCMC USSH, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) and Bang Anh Tuan – Director of the Office of International Cooperation and International Project Development.

On February 08, 2015, the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS), University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University – HCMC, organized field trips to Gia Lai and Kom Tum provinces from February 08-12, 2015. The group, including Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Assoc.Prof. Thanh Phan and Nguyen Quang Tue, MA (Deputy Director of the Gia Lai Office of Cultural Heritage), visited several localities where CVSEAS had conducted studies about 5 years ago.

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies hosted a seminar on “A survey on characteristics of Japanese academic job market and evaluation” led by Prof. Koji Domon from the Waseda University, Japan, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Vietnam National University – HCMC on February 03, 2015.
