The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies has just welcomed Prof. Robin K. Walters-Powell from the University of Findlay (the U.S). On this occasion, she had a talk with students from the Faculty of International Relations, the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities on the afternoon of May 21, 2013.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam worked with Dr. Richard Scott Frey, a scholar of Fulbright Program in Vietnam, to discuss cooperative plans for teaching and doing research between this scholar with the Faculty of Geography and the Faculty of Sociology at the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) on the morning of May 13, 2013.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam took part in a piano solo performed by a talented Canadian artist Alain Lefèvre at the Municipal Theater of HCMC (Saigon Opera House) on the evening of May 13, 2013.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam was one the guests at the 19th Japanese Eloquence Contest taking place at Ben Thanh Theater, HCMC on the morning of May 12, 2013.

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended the lecture and workshop on “Japanese handicrafts: Designs from Tokyo” at the Vietnam Designers House, HCMC on May 09, 2013.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam attended the meeting among representatives from the U.S. Department of State with those from the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) on April 09, 2013.

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended the international conference “The similarities and differences in Korean – Vietnamese culture and their impacts on the cultural, socio-economic cooperation between Vietnam and Korea”, which was co-organized by the Center for Korean Studies and VESAMO, Korea, at the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) on April 23, 2013.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam participated in the premiere of the Center for Theoretical & Applied Culturology and The Saigon Bookcase of Culturology held at the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) on the morning of April 22, 2013.

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) held a seminar with the participation of Devin T. Stewart, an Asian expert and also a senior fellow of Carnegie Council at the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) on the morning of April 17.

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies welcomed Prof. Thomas Engelbert – Dean of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies, University of Hamburg, Germany on the afternoon of April 12, 2013 on his business trip to HCMC.
