On October 1, 2010, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies participated in the "Hindi" Day jointly held by the Consulate General of India at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities of Ho Chi Minh city. Attending the Day were Sir Abhay Thakur, Consul General of India, Prof. Dr. Vo Van Sen, President of University of Social Sciences and Humanities, guests from the provinces, teachers and students of the University.
On September 12, 2010, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies participated in the Vietnam-Japan exchange festival held in the Culture House of Youth. Attending the opening ceremony were the representative of Foreign Affairs in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Le Thanh An, Consul General of the United States, Mr. Anatol V. Borovik, Consul General of Russian Federation, the representative of Chinese Consulate General in HCMC, etc.
On September 8th, 2010, at New World Hotel Saigon, 76 Le Lai, District 1, HCMC, Department of Multilateral Trade Policy, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, held a seminar titled "The DOHA round and its impact on Vienam."
MEETING WITH THE DELEGATION OF TOKYO UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS, JAPANOn August 19, 2010 Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies met with a delegation of Japanese professors dealing with the reports on Vietnam's economy. Attending the reception were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Luc, Director of Center for Japanese Studies, Dr. Ho Ngoc Phuong, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Mr Nguyen Tuan Nghia, Specialist of Department of International Cooperation and Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of CVSEAS. The Japanese delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Akira Suehiro, Director of the Institute of Social Science, University of Tokyo and accompanied by the members: Keiichiro Oizumi (Senior Researcher, Japan Research Institute), Seiya Suekgawa (Senior Researcher, JETRO Bangkok Office, METI), Yoshiaki Miyajima (Assistant Professor, Hokkai Gakuen University, Sapporo), Masaki Sato (A member of Japanese Chamber of Commerce at Bangkok, GMS), Yuichiro Yoshitomi (administrative staff of our Institute), Yuko Fukuda (administrative staff of the University of Tokyo) from the University of Tokyo, Japan. In particular, attending the reception was also Mr Kikuchi Tadashi from Consulate General of Japan in HCM City.
On the afternoon of August 17th, 2010, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies met with Prof. Dr. R. Scott Frey from the University of Tennessee, the United States.
On July 24, 2010, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies coordinated with the Vietnamese Students in Japan (Betonamujin Community) to hold a workshop: Japanese Business Culture with the participation of more than 60 students, businesses, etc.
MEETING WITH MR. GREG RADFORD – DIRECTOR OF KENT INSTITUTIONOn August 11th, 2010, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies met with Mr Greg Radford – Director of Kent Institution. Both sides discussed the affairs dealing with training occupation for the Vietnamese youth.
WORKSHOP: TO BE A STUDENT IN SINGAPOREOn the afternoon of 19th June 2010, at the HCMC University of Social Sciences & Humanities, the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies collaborated with the Association of Vietnamese Professionals in Singapore (Vietnam2020) to organize the conference titled "Be a Student in Singapore".
On July 15, 2010, in Da Nang Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies participated in the meeting for evaluating the Fulbright Program on scholar exchange held by the Fulbright Program in Vietnam, the Department of Culture & Information, the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi.
ATTENDING AN EXHIBITION: A TRIP TO THE FUTURE: ARTS OF A NEW GENERATION IN JAPANOn June 12, 2010, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended an exhibition: “A trip to the future: Arts of a new generation in Japan” held by Japan Foundation.
