From 14 July 2009 to 14 August 2009, the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) carried out the project on studies of economy, culture and society of the Bahnar people in Lo Pang and Kon Thup commune, Mang Yang District, Gia Lai Province, Vietnam.

On January 22, 2010, Assoc. Dr. Thanh Phan, Deputy Director of Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies, joined a workshop on " Cham History and Culture" at East-West Center at the University of Hawaii.

WORKSHOP WORKSHOP

On January 5, 2010, Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, University of Tokyo and People's Committee of Dac Lac province organized a workshop "Development Status of Development Triangle Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia _ the role of Vietnam and Japan. Attending the workshop were leaders of Dac Lac, Dac Nong, Gia Lai and Kon Tum and scholars from the University of Tokyo, Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, Ho Chi Minh Institute of Politics and Administration - region III, Highlands University and Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies.

On the afternoon of January 7th, 2010, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies organized a workshop:” The Arts of Leading Enterprises” chaired by Mr Kurimoto Mitsuharu – director of Top Globis company. Attending the workshop were over 50 listeners representing companies and enterprises, lecturers and research students from universities.

On the morning of January 7th, 2010, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies hosted a seminar “Training talents for non-profit organizations” (NPO) chaired by Prof. Nguyen Chi Trung with the participation of approximately 40 attendants from companies and enterprises, lecturers and research-students.

On June 30, 2010 Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended the workshop " Dissemination of free trade agreements (FTAs) Vietnam has participated in " held by the Department for Multilateral Trade Policy - Ministry Industry and Commerce, and Project Support Multilateral Trade EU - Vietnam MUTRAP III by European Union funding - Vietnam Ministry of Trade and Industry in coordination.

From December 16th to 17th, 2009, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended an International Conference on “Enhancing Taiwan-ASEAN Economic Cooperation and Strategy in the Aftermath of the Global Financial Crisis” in Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research, Taiwan. Participating in the Conference were Dr. Ma Ying-Jeou, President of the Republic of China and a lot of scholars from many countries in the world.

From December 6 to December 8, 2009, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended Conference on economic cooperation and environment in Singapore organized by EU Center in Singapore and Asia-Europe Foundation with the partners of Mercury and East Asia Net, participated in by ambassadors, scholars and experts from many countries in the world.
