On the morning of August 31st, 2009, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies participated in the conference on investment promotion in Laos. Attending the conference were Mr Xổm-xạ-vạt Lênh-xạ-vắt, Standing Vice-Prime Minister of Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Mr Lê Hoàng Quân, Chairman of People’s committee of HoChiMinh city and many representatives of agencies and enterprises, including: Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, Golf Long Thành company, Hoàng Anh Gia Lai stock company, Đăk Lăk Rubber company, Hong Quang Construction and Real Estate company, etc.

On the morning of September 15, 2009, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies met Mr Sakakibara - Head of Funding planning department of  Sumitomo Group. The talk dealt with the program of funding the study in 2010 of Sumitomo Group.

On July 11th, 2009, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended the exchange of experiences in success of Japanese enterprises on the occasion of  founding the new office of Nhat-Viet Ltd. company (Ms Watanobe Eriko's Kimono garment company)

On July 28th, 2009, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies met and worked with Mr Khairi Bin Omar, Consul General of Malaysia in HoChiMinh city.

On the afternoon of August 8th, 2009, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies met with Mr Taniguchi Hiroaki - presently attending an MBA course at Kenichi Ohmae.

From 12 February to 14 February 2009, CVSEAS attended ASEAN – North East India Investment & Trade Opportunities Summit in Ho Chi Minh City which was organized by Indian Chamber of Commerce and Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Government of India in partnership with Consulate General of India, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam.

On July 12th 2009, CVSEAS participated in the "Vietnamese-Japanese festival" in the Youth Cultural House in HoChiMinh city. The "Vietnamese-Japanese festival" was held by Consulate General of Japanese in coordination with the Youth Cultural House on the scope of the activities of "Anniversary of exchange between Japan-Mekong 2009".

On June 26, 2009, CVSEAS in coordination with a member of Vanda scholarship Fund carried out interviews to offer scholarships to five students in IT Japanese class.

On the morning of July 14, 2009, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies attended the talk by doctoral candidate Alexander M. Cannon on the topic ”Đờn ca tài tử in Vietnam” held by USSH and Public Affairs Section of Consulate General of The United States of America.

On the afternoon of June 26th, Ms. Haraguchi Yuko (JICA project) paid a visit to CVSEAS in order to sign a project "Research on culture-economy-society of the ethnic communities in Gia Lai province".
